About DeckSpec & our pricing methodology
DeckSpec is a free, multi-game card price and collection tracker — Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Riftbound and Lorcana in one place. No account, no login; your collection lives only in your browser.
The DeckSpec price
Most sites show a single spot price that jerks around with one-off sales. The DeckSpec price is a smoothed composite built to be an honest “what is this really worth” figure:
- A trailing 30-day window of observations, not just today’s number.
- Outlier trimming so a single abnormal sale can’t swing the value.
- Recency and reliability weighting — newer readings and more dependable sources count for more.
- Computed per finish (nonfoil / foil / etched) and shown in USD.
It sits alongside the raw market price so you can see both. Prices are indicative — they are not offers to buy or sell.
Where the data comes from
- Magic: catalogue and prices from Scryfall (which republishes TCGplayer and Cardmarket daily), MTGJSON for history, and Star City Games for sealed product.
- Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, One Piece, Riftbound, Lorcana: via the apitcg catalogue.
- Currency conversion uses the live European Central Bank EUR→USD reference rate.
How often it updates
Catalogue and prices refresh on a nightly sync, so card, set and “most valuable” pages reflect the latest daily snapshot. Live sync status is public on the status page.
Principles
- Free & ad-supported — card data is never paywalled.
- Local-first — your collection stays in your browser; we store no accounts or personal data.
- Transparent — this page, plus a public status page.
- Card images and names belong to their respective owners; DeckSpec is unaffiliated and does not modify card images.
